EMDR Trauma Therapy in Jacksonville, Florida

EMDR therapy stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Though it’s been around for a couple of decades, it has been growing more and more in popularity in more recent years. EMDR allows people to heal from trauma and other negative events they’ve experienced.

EMDR is different from traditional talk therapy as you do not have to talk about the distressing events you have experienced. Instead, it works with your brain’s natural healing abilities to lessen (desensitize) the negative memory by desensitizing the negative emotions and sensations that go along with the memory.

The effectiveness of EMDR has been studied through approximately 20 studies. It has shown to be effective for many issues. In my practice, I use EMDR to help women heal from the following:
