About

Maria Inoa

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and offer traditional therapy as well as trauma therapy in Florida.

I am certified in EMDR therapy and trained in Ego State Therapy (also known as parts work or inner child healing). I help women who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, pregnancy, and postpartum issues. Past therapy may not have worked, but I can help you find the healing you desire. Through a down to earth and compassionate approach, I provide a comfortable space where you can feel safe and supported.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work as well as a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the Florida State University. I have been practicing for over 18 years and am licensed in the state of Florida (SW9922).

Advanced Trauma-Focused Therapy

Maria specializes in trauma therapy, working with clients whose nervous systems remain impacted by past experiences. Trauma is not just a memory, it lives in the body, emotions, and belief systems.

Maria’s approach focuses on helping clients safely process unresolved trauma so it no longer controls their present. She helps clients move from survival mode into a place of stability, self-trust, and emotional safety.

EMDR Therapy Expertise

As a Florida certified EMDR therapist, Maria has spent years helping clients reprocess traumatic and distressing experiences using evidence-based EMDR techniques. EMDR therapy is especially effective for trauma, anxiety, and emotional blocks that feel impossible to “talk through.”

Maria’s calm, grounded style allows clients to engage in EMDR safely and at their own pace. Her extensive experience with EMDR enables her to adapt the process to each individual, making sessions both effective and deeply supportive.

Parts Work & Ego State Therapy

Maria is trained in Parts Work Therapy (Ego State Therapy), an approach that helps clients understand and heal the different “parts” of themselves shaped by past experiences. These parts may include inner child wounds, protective behaviors, or conflicting emotional responses.

Maria guides clients in building compassion and connection within themselves, rather than fighting or suppressing emotions. This work often leads to profound shifts in self-understanding, emotional regulation, and self-acceptance.

Anxiety Therapy & Nervous System Healing

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, exhausting, and impossible to control. Maria helps clients understand anxiety through a nervous-system-informed lens, rather than viewing it as a personal failure. Learn more about Anxiety Therapy.

With years of experience treating anxiety disorders, she helps clients learn how anxiety develops, how it shows up in their bodies, and how to respond to it with effective tools. The goal is not just symptom relief, but a sense of calm, confidence, and emotional resilience.

Grief Counseling & Life Transitions

Grief is not limited to loss through death—it can also arise from changes, unmet expectations, or identity shifts. Maria provides grief counseling that honors each client’s unique experience without rushing or minimizing the process.

With compassion and clarity, she helps clients process loss while gently rebuilding meaning, stability, and emotional balance. Her approach allows space for grief while supporting growth and healing over time.

Pregnancy & Postpartum Counseling

Maria has extensive experience supporting women through pregnancy and postpartum mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and identity changes. This season of life can be both beautiful and overwhelming. Learn more about Postpartum Counseling.

Maria offers specialized care that acknowledges the emotional, hormonal, and relational complexities involved. Her goal is to help mothers feel supported, confident, and emotionally well—not just for their families, but for themselves.

Education & Licensure

Maria earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Florida State University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida (License #SW9922) and has dedicated nearly two decades to helping women heal, grow, and reclaim their lives.
