When Disappointment Feels Like the Norm

Are you always waiting for the other shoe to drop?

Do you live in fear of being disappointed…yet again in your life?

These are hard mindset patterns to break free from but IT IS POSSIBLE. In my work with my beautiful clients, mindset is a big topic we tackle.

Mindset is more than changing your thoughts or trying to focus on something positive. That’s because the fears you have inside, such as the fear of being disappointed and the fear of failure, point to deeper wounds that have not been healed. There’s usually a younger version of you holding on to past situations where disappointment was a common theme. Growing up, our brains are forming and “under construction”. Things that happen to us as children and teens end up being extremely impactful and form the basis of how we think.

As children, we watch how others around us handle disappointment. We learn what it is and how to cope with it based on how those closest to us handled things. It truly is wild how much children sponge up things from those around them.

It is possible and oh-so-freeing to heal that wounded part of you and set her free from the pain of disappointment. I encourage you to ask yourself, instead of living in fear,

✨What if it all goes well?

✨What if it all works out?✨

One of my favorite tools for this is to visualize whatever it is causing you stress and anxiety actually working out and going well. Run it through your mind like watching the scenes from a movie and see it unfolding the way you want it to. There are numerous studies that you can look up that show the power of visualization and how simple doing this can set into motion the very thing you visualize.

Our minds are so very complex and powerful. You have more control than you realize. Let me know if you try the visualization. Here’s to things going just way you hoped.❤️
